OFTEC is a leading trade association for liquid fuel heating equipment manufacturers and training providers. We also run a ‘competent persons scheme’ for businesses and technicians who are approved to install and maintain oil, solid fuel, electrical and renewable heating equipment.

Leading the way in the off-gas grid heating sector, OFTEC’s vision is for all consumers to have safe and efficient heating. We achieve this by working with manufacturers of heating equipment, training providers, UKAS, LABC and other industry experts.

Almost 10,000 technicians are registered with OFTEC’s renowned UKAS accredited registration schemes to show their commitment to completing work that meets regional building regulations and industry best practice.

Established in 1991, OFTEC is a leading ‘not for profit’ trade organisation for the heating and cooking industries in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Our aim is to promote the highest professional and technical standards for technicians and businesses working in the industry and, by doing so, support the needs of heating users.
